An Open Heart, Held with containment
In the middle is the Chinese character 心, which means heart.
My heart was locked because of my life experiences. I chose to close it to protect myself. But while I was protecting myself, I was also missing out on so much.
Now I have been learning to open it again.
I know I have a sensitive and open heart. I feel everything very deeply, and sometimes it overwhelms me. That was one of the reasons I wanted to close it.
My journey is about returning home—to my heart, and to finding peace with everything that life brings.
The circle around the heart represents containment.
A heart without containment flows everywhere. It can become overwhelmed by everything around it.
Containment doesn’t mean closing the heart. It means allowing the heart to stay open while feeling safe, supported, and grounded.
In the centre is the blue rose.
The blue rose came from one of my visions while receiving a cranio treatment.
I saw a glowing blue rose deep inside a dark cave. It was very quiet, but it felt incredibly powerful.
At the time, I didn’t know what it meant.
One or two years later, I finally painted it, because I finally understood.
The blue rose is my heart.
She has always been there, quietly glowing. I just couldn’t see her before.
Now I can.
Everyone has their own blue rose.
Sometimes it is hidden by pain, fear, or the ways we have learned to protect ourselves.
But it is still here.
